About Us - The DB Foundation for Adolescent Behaviors
We are Non-Profit Educational Organization founded when 11 year old Dylan A. Blake unexpectedly passed away in
October 2005 from a tragic accident. Dylan's death was due to his participation in the dangerous asphyxiation activity
known as the "Choking Game".
In researching the "Choking Game" after Dylan's passing we learned how widespread and essentially unknown this
behavior is to adults. And how many other families were stricken by tragic Choking Game deaths. We also learned
of many other dangerous activities today's youth are exposed to that parents are unaware of. These activities range
from Asphyxia Activities, to Inhalants to Over-the-Counter Medication Abuse to Internet Exploitation through personal
web pages. Currently, many of these dangers are only brought to the attention of parents through media accounts of
injuries or deaths of children in the community.
The DB Foundation is community based and community driven. We believe in order for there to be change we each
must first take care of our own backyards. Through our community - each of us being an individual within the
community - we are reaching the goal of raising awareness. We are dedicated Advocates striving to prevent
senseless child deaths and injuries from dangerous adolescent behaviors by providing education and awareness
and sharing our experience and knowledge. Each person bring to the collective table a piece of themselves, their
family and their area of expertise.
The mission of this Foundation is to establish and implement awareness and education accessible to parents,
schools, law enforcement, Health Care Professionals and therefore children. This will be achieved through school
assemblies, community presentations, a website presence and availability to the general media and a quarterly
newsletter in addition to several other avenues.
