" The Choking Game "
Advocating Education of the Dangers
Slang names, Warning Signs, Who is doing this?
    A Survey was given to 500 boys and 500 girls ages 10-14 to
    assess their knowledge and participation of the "Choking Game"
    (aka Pass Out or Fainting Game)

Of the boys surveyed:        53% admitted to playing.

Of those who had played:   86% admitted to playing 2x/week
                                      64% admitted to playing alone.
    When asked where they had learned of the game and where they
    had played,
    the number one answer for both was "at school"

  • Ohio has the highest rate of reported Youth Asphyxia Activity incidences for the first half of 2006

  • September 2005 had the highest rate of incidences of 17, compared to the monthly average of 4.4 incidences ( Start of School
    could have an impact)
  • 1 out of every 2 states in the U.S. has reported death or injury
  • California has the highest rate of reported deaths or injuries from Youth Asphyxia Activity followed closely by Florida and
    Washington.
  • 90% of  US victims are male.

by the under reporting of cases, these statistics are as accurate as possible.
